DO NOT ALLOW ANYONE TO GO NEAR WINDOWS TO WATCH THE TORNADO APPROACH, EVEN IF IT IS STILL FAR AWAY. TORNADOES CAN TRAVEL AND CHANGE DIRECTION FAST.
- If it is a business, they have a plan for their customers. Listen to their direction, but if anything is contrary to your knowledge, rely on your training and experience.
- The shelter should be indoors, in an interior room, far away from windows.
- If in a place that has racking like those in a big box store, book shelves, or any other large unsecured items, move far away, crouch down, and cover your head.
- Whenever possible, stay away from large openings.
