Hazardous Chemical/Waste Spills

If the chemical is spilled within a Yaskawa facility:

  1. Evacuate the area until the chemical has been identified and the Safety Data Sheet has been reviewed.
  2. Search for the Safety Data Sheet in Yaskawa's online system by clicking here.
  3.  Follow the instructions provided in Section 6 of the Safety Data Sheet.

If the chemical is spilled outside of a Yaskawa facility:

  1. Notify authorities
    • If train or truck tanker, you should call 911 immediately.
    • For other spills, you can generally call the non-emergency number
  2. Advise associates remain in the building and await instructions from the authorities.
    • NOTE: You can strongly advise associates to stay in the building, but you cannot require them to do so. If an associate chooses to leave the premises against recommendation, you must document that they were advised to stay inside.
