Receiving bomb threat by phone
- If you receive a bomb threat, get as much information from the caller as possible. See questions to ask below.
- Take good notes when talking to the person on the telephone. Keep the caller on the line, and write down everything that is said.
- Be aware of background noise, special voice characteristics, music, machinery, etc.
- If you are at work, have a coworker call 911 and HR immediately. Plan how you are going to alert your coworker.
Receiving bomb threat via mail or package
- Do not touch any suspicious packages
- Clear the area around the suspicious package and notify the police immediately
Facility Evacuation
- While evacuating the facility, avoid standing in front of windows or other potentially hazardous areas
- Do not restrict sidewalks or other areas used by emergency officials

- Where is the bomb?
- What does it look like?
- What kind of bomb is it?
- What will cause it to explode?
- Did you place the bomb?

- Where are you calling from?
- What is your address?
- What is your name?

If the voice is familiar, whom does it sound like?
Were there any background noises?
