Inspection Verification Confirm that the daily/shift inspection has been completed and signed off. (Verify at least the current day and four previous days)
Operator Certification Verify that the operator has the required certification and training for operating the specific crane.
PPE Verify that the operator and other associates within the fall zone are wearing the appropriate PPE (hart hats, safety shoes, safety glasses)
Operational Hazards Confirm the operator checks that any hazards in the operating area are identified and mitigated
Lift Planning Verify the operator has planned the lift, movement, and lowering and ensured that there are no obstructions in the path.
Area Clearance Verify that the area around the crane is clear of obstructions and unauthorized personnel.
Signaling Communication Ensure that clear and effective hand signals or radio communications is maintained between the operator and spotters (if applicable).
Operator Visibility Check that the operator has a clear line of sight to the load or is using a spotter to assist with blind spots.
Emergency Stops Ensure the operator is aware of and can access the emergency stop controls.

Operational Controls Observe the operator to ensure they understand and use all crane controls properly.
Load Rigging Verify that the load is rigged correctly and securely, with no slippage or imbalance.
Load Capacity Ensure that the load being lifted does not exceed the capacity of the crane, hoist, or rigging.
Load Stability Confirm that the load is stable and properly balanced before lifting.
Trolley and Bridge Observe the crane trolley and bridge travel; it should move smoothly with no unexpected stops, jerks, or excessive noise.
Hoist Operation Ensure smooth and controlled raising and lowering of the load, with no sudden movements or uncontrolled descent.
Use of Limit Switches Confirm that limit switches are functioning properly and are being used to prevent over-travel of the hoist.
Load Path Observe the load's path of travel to ensure the load is never above any part of a person, vehicle, or other equipment.
Load Lift Confirm that the load is lifted gradually and smoothly without sudden movements.
Load Swing Ensure that the load does not swing excessively during operation and is controlled at all times.
Load Placement Verify that the load is lowered and placed gently in the correct location, ensuring that no damaged is caused.
Load Security Ensure that any slings, hooks, or rigging gear are disengaged from the load safely and securely after placement.
