Drill Results:
100% Participation (Outstanding!) Approximately 4 minutes to fully evacuate (Good, but would like to get this down to around 3 minutes) Most associates exited out of the front entrance. Remember to exit out of the nearest exit.
Opportunities For Improvement:
The goal is to have an accurate attendance within 5 minutes. This is necessary so the emergency coordinator can tell the fire department about any associates who may be missing and their last known location. The current method requires the emergency coordinator to walk to each assembled group. We stopped this exercise after eight minutes. The primary and secondary emergency coordinators are frequently at other locations. We will change the emergency coordinators to associates who are generally working in the HQ facility. (Let me know if you'd like to volunteer for this role.) The emergency coordinator should be near the front of the building to communicate with the fire department. Requiring the emergency coordinator to walk to the assembled groups is ineffective. Many associates are in HQ from other facilities practically every day. These associates, as well as other visitors, must be accounted for. In most circumstances, they are in HQ to meet with an HQ associate. Please remember to report these associates, even if you are unsure if they have arrived yet or if you are unsure if they have already left. It is better to report someone as possibly missing so we can start calling people to ascertain their location.
